New Clinical Trail for Humira

NEW CLINICAL TRIAL!!! folks, here is the contact information for a new clinical trial for Humira. Call them if you are interested

Hi Rick,

Thanks for the call, sorry I was unavailable. The study we are conducting is in Troy, Michigan. It is listed on clinical trials.gov, study NCT01468207 if people want to see it there.

This is a research trial for adults with HS in at least 2 areas (both underarms or one underarm and one other area). They need to have been diagnosed at least one year earlier (will need documentation) and should have had an inadequate response to at least a 90 day treatment of oral antibiotics.

The trial is sponsored by Abbott and will study if Humira is effective and safe in the treatment of HS.

Participants are given either: 1. Humira every week; 2. Humira every other week; or 3. a placebo (no medicine). After 12 weeks, subjects are re-randomized to different arms, so that everyone will at some time receive active medication.

To get more details, please call 248-244-8448 and ask for the research department.

Thanks for your help.

I have been on a humira trail here in NZ for over a year now, I inject myself every fortnight, It has made the healing time a lot faster, But that is all it has done for me. Good luck to everyone.

I signed up for this clinical trial. I started receiving actual Humira in August of 2012 (after 3 months of placebo). The side effects of this drug are daunting, to be honest. But if you're living in pain all the time, the risk is totally worth it. It changed my life. I went from an 8 average pain number (sometimes spiking up to 9 if I moved wrong) to a 1 average pain number. I'm not in remission but it doesn't affect my life at all whereas before it was the center of my entire existence. Seriously, look into this.

Hi all I'm new here but wanted to let you know that I tried humira for many mpnths with no success. I also tried enbral and Remicade. The remicade seemed to be the best but I had a small reaction to it so they stopped but I'm gonna try again soon i hope.

Do you have to live in Michigan to participate? Is the trial already closed?

i just got into the extention trial for humira in NC. you just have to go to clinicaltrials.com and find out if one is available in your state. i have to take a four hour trip out of town, and four hours back for my appointments. luckily, i have family in the area and can stay overnight. but i've learned a lot and i think it will be worth it. i'm guaranteed medication in this round, so there will be no question as to whether i'm on the placebo or not.

I have a history of lymphoma (2004 to 2005) & therefore this is not a treatment option for me. IN CALIFORNIA, THIS IS NOT A TRIAL. THIS IS A TREATMENT OPTION! Currently, my daughter is participating at 80mr per week, 40mg given by injection on Mondays & 40mg given by injection on Thursdays. We notice reduced breakout, yet not controlled.
